A simple Thank you

A simple Thank you

This is a quick card i put together simply to say Thank you.

I chose a simple colour scheme of Duck Egg and Coconut white. For the top layer i cut out using only the inner die of the Bevelled Glass from Sue Wilson's Striplets collection. I then mounted it on to a single layer of duck egg card. I cut out a bow from the classic 3D bow collection in coconut white and a pierced flag in duck egg and added a sentiment using a just rite stamp.

I added clear gems to one corner and on the centre of the die cut for a bit of bling

Hope you like it

Milk Roses

Milk Roses

I wanted to combine as many of the card making design tools as I could for this one. Stamping, decoupage, die cutting and embossing,

For this design I chose two contrasting Yellow for a light spring feel. I used the Milk and Custard card from the foundation card stock range.

I started by stamping and embossing three images of the Rose Bouquet from Sue Wilson's stamps to die for range. I cut the base layer using the outer edge from the Burgundy Die then mounted onto the two outer layers from the Auvergne die. I cut away parts of the two remaining layer to enhance the roses within the design.

I cut a piece of milk card bigger than the French back ground die and ran this through my grand caliber, to leave a border and added a piece of the custard card behind it to show off the design. I took a piece of custard card and placed it in the Textured score lines embossing folder for the main background. I made a base mat layer of milk and custard and added the embossed card for the back ground. I added foam tape to the Background die to raise the design, I added two layers of foam tape to the right edge of the topper and double sided tape to the left to be able to mount the topper flat.

Finally i added a sentiment from John Lockwood's Butterfly Dreams stamp collection and cut this out using the centre die from the tag in the Austrian border collection. I mounted it with foam tape on the topper.

Hope you like it

Something Blue ...

Something Blue ....

I've seen Sue Wilson do a channel card and was thinking of other ways to use a border die and came up with this.

I have used four colours from the Foundation card stock range. Coconut White, Deep Blue, Periwinkle and Light Blue.

I cut out the Austrian Border die in Coconut white and then cut two matching lengths one wider than the other to create the main topper of my design, I lined them up with the edges of the die to create a channel. For the next layer I used dark Blue. I cut strip of the dark blue, periwinkle and light blue and lined them up with the pattern on the border die starting with the darkest in the centre and the lightest on the outer edge. I covered this with iced snow from cosmic shimmer and placed it under the border. I added a triple layer matt of coconut white, periwinkle then coconut white again.

I cut four charming hearts corners out in deep blue and placed them in each corner to frame the design. I cut out the topper from the Austrian die collection - Salzburg, using various layers and matching colour and finally stamped a sentiment on the top layer from John Lockwood's Lotus Frames stamp collection.

Hope you like it

Something a little different...

Something a little different ...

After visiting Creative Expressions for a workshop I started thinking of the cards I used to make before I used dies and wanted to combine the two ideas... This is what i came up with...

I started with two sheets of Milk Foundation card stock and scored both in half to make the base of my card.

For the front I matted a layer of black card and embossed a layer of Milk using the Eternity embossing from Creative Expressions. I then cut matching coloured layers using the Vienna die from Sue Wilson's Austria Die Collection. For the second layer I cut out the oval and added a layer of double sided adhesive sheet and gilded it with Cosmic Shimmer - Mulled Wine gilding flakes, then added the next section of the die. Finally adding some Camellia flowers in varying sizes with matching pearls for the centres.

I then cut out the smallest size bow from the classic 3d bow set and the border and gilded them in Mulled wine gilding flakes. I cut the same size and shape from the Filigree set and overlayed these together and mounted them below the main design.

For the centre of the card i gilded the background that was still visible through the aperture cut from the Cordoba die from the Spanish Collection. to add some interest to the aperture I cut the bevelled glass consecutively in black card and mounted it over the gilding flakes.
I added the Charming hearts corners to the centre folds and then added two sentiments using the same black, milk and gold theme. I used both of the dies from the Tag in the Austria Collection and stamped a sentiment from the Just-rite range and embossing it in Cosmic shimmer detail embossing powder - Bright gold.

Hope you like it

Vintage Gold Cornflowers

Vintage Gold Cornflowers

For this design I have used two colours from the Foundation card stock range, the Vintage gold and Milk.

For the background I used the milk card and embossed it used the Pinpoint Beaded Fanfare Embossing folder from Sue Wilson's range of embossing folders and cut along the design at the bottom to show the beautiful design and matted it onto a vintage gold layer. I then cut out various sizes from the cornflower, finishing touches range in both milk and vintage gold, layered them up, shaped them and added cream pearls for the centres and set aside to dry. I also cut out the leaves in matching colours to add to corsage design and placed them over a matching pair of splendid swirls.

I cut out some layers from the Oslo die, from the Scandinavian range again using the same colour palette and matted these together, adding a verse on the top layer from John Lockwoods clear stamp set - Daisy Chain Elements. Once completed i mounted these onto the first layer with foam tape to give dimension.

I then matted and layered another large layer of cream and vintage gold to complete the design. Finally finishing the design with some cream pearls in each corner.

Hope you like it

Distressed Butterfly Meadow

Distressed Butterfly Meadow

This is my first attempt at using distress inks for a background. I used Dusty Concord, Pickled Raspberry and blended them together with Peacock Feathers. I stamped the Butterfly Meadow stamp from Sue Wilson's Stamps to die for range with Black Archival ink.

I cut out the stamped area using Sue Wilson's Die Seville from the Spanish Collection and mounted it onto Foundation black card using the Cordoba Die from the same collection. I then cut out a frame using the outer most die from the Cordoba set and recessed the mounted stamped image and frame onto a Teal card matted layer, so the teal could show through the frame.

I the added a further matted layer of teal and duck egg from the foundation card range and added a purple ribbon bow (from my stash)

Life is for Living ...

Life is for living ...

For this card I started with a piece of Taupe Foundation card, from the neutrals pack and cut out just the aperture using the Tethered Hearts Die from Sue Wilson's Striplets collection. I cut it again this time using the outer cutting edge and layered the two together.

I added the sentiment and rose from John Lockwood's Elements Stamps - Scribble Rose, I stamped this with clear ink and then embossed with Bright Gold - Detail Embossing powder.

Next i used a layer of Roast Coffee to which i added a piece of a  double sided adhesive sheet and covered it with Cosmic Shimmer Gilding flakes - Mulled Wine. Then mounted the two together, adding another layer in Milk.

Finally I added this to a matted layer of Roast Coffee and Taupe foundation card and added the cream pearls to finish of the design.

Californian Buckle Card

For this card i decided to keep it simple and go for a monochromatic look.

I have used Coconut White and Black Foundation card throughout this card. For the frames I used Sue Wilson's California Collection - Decorative Frames (Set B), I threaded a Pierced flag through the frames, adding a variety of sizes of complete petal Camellia flowers to decorate. I cut and layered the sentiment from the Scandinavian collection (Oslo & Stockholm) and stamped a sentiment from John Lockwood's Daisy Chain Elements stamp sets.

I added black & white pearls in the centre of the Camellia's and in the corners of both layers.

I hope you all like it
